Home Wi-Fi Diagnostic

Describe the symptom, when it happens, and how your router is set up. You get ranked causes and a test order so you change one thing at a time.

Describe the problem

This is a guided decision tree, not a signal meter. It cannot see your network — it ranks likely causes from your answers and gives you an order to test them in.

Which best describes what you see?
Have you tested with an Ethernet cable?

This single check decides whether the problem is Wi-Fi at all.

What this tool does and does not do

  • It does not measure anything. There is no signal meter, no speed test, and no access to your network — it ranks causes from the answers you give.
  • Rankings are editorial judgements about which explanations usually fit which symptoms. A low-ranked cause is not ruled out.
  • Record your router settings before changing them. An incorrect change can lock you out of the admin page, and some routers need a factory reset to recover.
  • Nothing you enter leaves your browser. No account, no storage, no data collection.
